My compositional interest focus on ideas of time, specifically brevity, fragmentation and stasis. This is reflected in a range of works that have at their core fragile and delicate textures, and pieces that explicitly play with the use of short forms. An interest in narrative is seen in works for voice, ranging from overtly dramatic pieces to new renditions of folksongs and Renaissance lute songs.

I work closely with players on individual projects, favouring presentation of works at unusual venues and in settings where new music is not usually heard. Collaborating with visual artists is of increasing interest to me, as I begin to present works in a gallery context.
